Phoebe Bishop searched her heart and the community looking for a cause. One that the visitors at Bishop Castle could contribute to. One that would hold a special meaning. and one day she had a friend experience a childbirth. The newborn had a defective heart. It would require immediate surgery. There was no other option and the family would never be able to afford it. Their future would a forever a battle with overwhelming bills. And more pressing was how would they get by for the immediate weeks to come. Pheobe Bishop decided that providing that family with a modest donation to help with the current hardships was a great cause. The castle Made a payment on there mortgage. It bought them a cart full of groceries and covered 6 months of utility bills. This is how the Bishop Castle Foundation for Newborn Infants needing heart surgery was formed. The donations we are able to make have always been modest. However we believe that they have relieved burden and eased stress.
